Global warming! Economic chaos! Wars! Starvation! Pestilence! Our planet sucks, and it's rapidly getting worse! It turns out our problems started about five thousand years ago when we drove the dragon people, and their magic, out of this world!In our greed to possess the dragon magic that we didn't understand, we forced all of the dragon's to flee. All but one, and he has lived among us as a human, for many lifetimes. He doesn't remember that he is a dragon, and he has no idea that he is humanity's only hope to pull us out of the hole that we've dug for ourselves.

Thus begins the saga of retired widower Paul MacLeary, who has not had a great year. Not only has Paul's wife Elsbeth recently died of a sudden and mysterious illness, but now he’s begun to hear her voice in his mind! If that weren’t crazy enough, a large dragon tattoo has appeared on his body, a tattoo that moves, and has the same beautiful eyes as his beloved Elsbeth, a dragon that is changing him back into a young man!

That he didn’t know who his beautiful wife really was, comes as no great surprise. She always kept any information about her past well hidden. He is however, incredibly surprised to find that he didn’t know who he was either!

When he discovers that he is the legendary Gordan, a respected and much loved hero of the Aràon dragon people from the beforetimes, he and Elsbeth begin an amazing and passionate journey to restore the lost dragon magic to our world!In order for them to succeed in this enormous task, Elsbeth must first teach Gordan about the nature and power of the Arach (Dragon) Silver Magic, and then help him to discover his memories from the last five thousand years. Years in which he has unknowingly, been passing his dragon genes to uncounted generations of humankind, preparing us for the dragon magic’s return!

Their journey together will take them to the ancient Scottish Highlands, and then through the dragon portal at the Dunnotter Castle ruins, into Elsbeth’s home world. In that world, Gordan finds that he has become the mo ànam cara tattoo on Elsbeth’s beautiful body! From there, they must lead a small group of magical loved ones back into this world, in order to restore the lost dragon magic.

With each challenge that confronts them, they must learn more about the human magic on earth, magic that has gone badly astray, magic that has brought our world to the very brink of destruction!
